Almost Spring!

I can't believe it is almost Spring! Jason, Luke and I worked out in the yard this weekend (Jason did most of the work since I can no longer bend over!) and tried to get the flower beds ready to plant our Spring flowers. Luke gets really excited to help now that he has his new Diego gardening gloves. Our next 2 big projects will be putting in a patio in the backyard before the rainy season hits (if we have one this year) and finishing up Ryan's room. For the most part it is done, but we need to hang a ceiling fan and some pictures.

Everything is going well around our house. Luke is growing like a weed and amazing us everyday with his new words and phrases. We have been trying to prepare him for the arrival of his baby brother, but I am not sure if he really understands. He does love to put his baby (a stuffed bear in a rabbit suit) in the cradle and cover him up and say "night night baby!" He is too cute! Jason is busy with work and home improvement projects around the house. He is getting very good at patching holes and building things. He built a shelf in the garage that hangs from the ceiling to free up some space since we have ALOT of junk and toys out there.
Jason and I made a trip down to New Orleans at the end on January for a wedding...and it was not quite what I was expecting. You see New Orleans on TV all the time and all these cool little shops and buildings, but it wasn't really that exciting. I think it is more for the college crowd. It was nice to get away for the weekend though. We don't really get a chance to do that very often.

We are taking Luke down to Houston next weekend to visit Matt and go to the Houston Rodeo. Hopefully I will be able to get some new pictures up on the computer after that.

Wow! I am really bad at this blogging thing!!

As you are all aware, I suck at updating webpages and blogs, and sending out pictures, ect.... I really am going to try and keep this going!! I just need to find all of our recent pictures on our newly rebuilt computer. Hopefully it will be before my kids all graduate from college!!

Luke's 2nd Birthday/ Baby Neef

Aunty Ali, Uncle Chris and Cousin Ava suprised us and came out for Lukey's 2nd Birthday party! We were so excited to have them here for the weekend!! Luke and Ava played so well together! We can't wait to see everyone again in about a month!

Luke's Birthday party was alot of fun! We had it at Town Park in Mansfield, and it went very well. All the kiddos were able to play on the playground and eat pizza and cake, so everyone was happy. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for the party!

I went to the doctor on the 7th, and Baby Neef seems to be doing well...and growing so fast! I actually started losing a little weight, which is no concern to the doctor for now, but something we are going to need to keep track of. And I am super impatient, so Jason did another scan on the 14th...and it is still too early to tell for sure, but he seems to think it's boy! I am not even 12 weeks yet, so we have alot of time to tell for sure, but Jason really thinks it's a boy.

We are getting ready for the Fall Festival and Halloween, but nothing else really exciting is going on around here. We are trying to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful weather now that it is not 1,000 degrees out.

Fall Fun at the Pecan Festival

This last weekend we took Luke to the Pecan Festival in Mansfield. He had his first pony ride (which he LOVED) and visited the petting zoo. He ran back and forth to the hay pile about 50 times to make sure all the animals were fed! It was really cute!

Luke is also doing very well at Mother's Day Out! Yesterday, he walked into his classroom all by himself and started playing with the other kiddos. This was a first...I usually carry him in kicking and screaming and then leave the room crying myself because I feel bad that he is upset. But he actually did very well. He ate lunch and took a nap, and he was very happy when I picked him up. This is very important to me because it's so important for him to be around other little kiddos, but it is soooo hard for me to leave him.

Today we are going to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather! I'm sure it won't last long, since this is Texas!

Neef Family News

Jason and I moved into out our first house in Mansfield, Texas back in March. Within the first week it snowed twice (not alot of snow, but pretty exciting for our area in Texas)! We are absolutely loving it...but there is much work left to be done. We finally have the yard in pretty good shape, and we are going to move on to the backyard as soon as the weather cools off a bit. We will be adding a patio and an outdoor fireplace so we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful fall and winter here in Texas before it heats up to 1,000 degrees again!

Lukey started Mother's Day Out at the beginning of September. It was a little rough for both of us the first week, but now he seems to be doing well and having fun. And I get a few hours to myself a couple days a week. Luke will be turning 2 in a couple of weeks, and we are so amazed at how fast he is growing up!
Jason finally finished his residency at Parkland Hospital in June, and is now out on his own! He opened a practice at Huguley Medical Center in Burleson and so far is doing very well. It's nice to have him home most weekends and at a normal hour during the week. Besides the occasional call in the middle of the night, things have been going very smoothly.
Jason and I are also expecting another baby in May 2009! We are very excited to add to our little family...and Luke is also very excited to have a new "brudder". We obviously don't know the sex of the baby yet, but he really seems to want a brother. I had my first appointment on September 11th and everything looked good according to the doctor. I go back for my next appointment October 7th, so I will keep you all posted!
